It’s safe to say the books for pre-teens through middle-grade vary as much as the kids. There’s such a wide range of reading abilities here that although they still enjoy reading about characters their own age, many tend to “read up” about characters older than themselves, but they will also “read down” when the mood strikes.
Well-developed fantasy, and an increase in emotional plot developments, more pages, smaller fonts, and social issues tend to catch the attention of this age and maturity level, even with the varying ranges of emotional readiness. They also find graphic novels highly entertaining as well.
Here’s a few best selling middle-grade books your kids are sure to enjoy!
